Does the rented machine create enough presure to pack insulation to 2lb per sq ft? Assuming I buy climate Pro instead.

Disagree with manufacturer. You need a professional machine to do dense pack or run risk of having loose spots. Especially when doing 2x12 etc.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking of using this not for "drill and fill" but for new construction using Climate Pro and and a BIB mesh. I'd flatten using a rigid roller to keep level with the studs. I'm assuming that if it makes 2lb/sqt with sheetrock, it would also be able to achieve this in a BIB without voids.

A properly maintained “DIY-type” of blowing wool machine that can be rented from Lowe’s will be able to achieve 2.0 pcf (pounds per cubic foot). In fact, these types of machines are often better for “drill and fill” types of applications, as more powerful machines can sometimes create too much pressure in the wall cavity, which can cause the drywall to separate from the wood studs.
