How does this lock attach. My windows are vinyl with1/2" rails

TO INSTALL: 1. Close and lock window. 2. Drill 2, 5/16" holes, 2-5/8" deep (see cross section view below). 3. Insert window pin (solid end first )until flush in window. 4. Repeat on opposite side for maximum security. 5. Insert security pins with slot facing "UP", as shown below. To Ventilate: Raise window approx. 3", as shown below. Use existing pin hole to drill for the ventilating position. Repeat on opposite side. To Remove Bolt: Use pin remover as shown below. Insert pin remover key, with hook-end facing down, into hole and into slot. Press down and gently remove pin.
