Can you use this product without tape when repairing stress cracks?


Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP Premium Lightweight Joint Compound. Because this is a hard setting repair filler/compound, it should not be used in applications that may be subject to movement (expansion/contraction/flexing). While the use of reinforcing tape (Example: fiberglass mesh) may help to stabilize the joint (limit movement), should movement occur, cracking will likely result.
