Has anyone ever used these to build a planter box? 5/8 seems good as long as there are enough vertical supports... Seems like a cheaper alternative ..


I have built several planter boxes with this material. I also built a chicken coop with these pickets. Very durable and reasonably priced.

These are treated with nasty chemicals which will bleed into the soil. So, you need to use a liner if you're growing edibles.

I built two tall planter boxes last year and am building two shorter ones this year. Cheaper than buying other wood, I just chopped the "eared" part off the end.

Yes and it turned out great. I used gloves because of the roughness of the “fence” cedar and made sure to quickly sand them before working with for my own comfort.

These can certainly be used to build a planter box.
