Can this be mounted in front of a fireplace on the floor?


AirStone is not designed to hold weight, and is not recommended for horizontal surfaces. This is why we do not recommend AirStone for hearths or offer hearth stones. Plus the jagged face of the AirStone would make a very irregular surface for your hearth (resulting in some wobbly fireplace tools, for example)! We advise customers to find matching tile, or to have a piece of stone cut (a brickyard or local masonry supply distributor can help you with this).
