The width cannot be trimmed at home. Your local Lowe's retailer can trim to width at no additional charge. The height can be adjusted at home without having to cut the material. To adjust the height, remove headrail endcap to slide shade out then gather your excess pleats and slide shade back into the rail. - Kimberly
