VELUX FCM skylights are ideal for replacing existing curb mount skylights, especially old plastic bubble skylights, and can be installed on a flat, low slope, or standard slope roof up to a 60° roof pitch
Solar powered shade has a built-in solar panel and rechargeable battery-operated control system so no electrical wiring or electrician is needed
Room darkening shade utilizes a double-pleated honeycomb structure with an interior aluminum coating to block even the brightest sunlight, making it ideal for bedrooms, entertainment rooms or any other space where light control is important
Qualifies for the VELUX 10-year installation warranty when installed with appropriate VELUX flashing kit (sold separately) on a pitched roof
Laminated Low-E3 Standard Safety Glass comes with a 10-year hail warranty against glass breakage and the "Neat" silicon dioxide coating makes the glass exceptionally smooth, keeping your skylight cleaner and reducing outside noise
Features insulating double-paned argon-filled Low-E3 glass which provides excellent energy performance for year-round comfort, plus the added safety of laminated glass, which building codes require for out of reach applications
Integrated gaskets will drain condensation to the skylight's exterior
White interior skylight frame blends in with your ceiling
Compliant with Colorado's Water & Efficiency Standards (U-factor ≤ 0.50) for residential applications

I am very satisfied with this product. it has the solar powered blind feature which is very easy to use and helps block out the heat of the sun in the summer. I live in the Northeast so I will leave the blind open in winter to help heat the house with sunlight.

Too Costly
The skylight is ok, but they charge $132 + $15 shipping for a simple 2 button remote control, which I found out the hard way when I misplaced mine. I won't be buying from Velux again, and I highly recommend getting your skylights from a different company.

Peace of mind is priceless
Love our skylights, cheerful daylight clouds, admiring the moon at night. No leaks during heavy rain and winter snow. May install solar blinds to reduce sun streaming in room. Undecided but still have that option.
