NO SEAL, NO CONTROL

This is NOT airtight. With every single vent closed, this thing can still suck in enough air to have a raging uncontrollable burn! Wood or coal, there is NO real control, you are at the mercy of the fuel and how it wants to behave, sometimes it's calm and keeps perfect temps, sometimes it just takes off and easily hits 1000°!! There are NO seals, and NO way to actually lock the door down! DO NOT BUY THIS!! This is my second winter with it, I've tried everything! I'll be replacing it!

the grate is why it's not great and gets a 4. if the grate was a slightly raised half circle with pattern a cache with lever and 1 piece ...this would be much easier to manage when lit & would help fuel remain lit longer. followed a recommendation on ytube on moving grate lever to front at ashpan as it would not move at all loaded or clean in it's initial location. it worksish but I got the best results with a fire poker and gentle flossing of the basin bottom. be careful the grate can...

Great Stove other than cheap "low heat" paint

I like the aesthetic of this stove, and it heats my space well. The first time I fired it up though, all of the paint turned white. I was worried that I had somehow overfired it, but I hadn't even put in coal, just a pine wood fire to heat it up. After chatting with US Stove, they informed me that the paint will turn ashy at any temp above 500 degrees.... So that obviously would be problematic. I touched up the "belly" of the stove with some high heat spray paint, and haven't had the problem sin...

Easy order, easy assemble.

Love everything about it, can't hardly wait to use it!
