Base height is 2-1/4-in, square top is 1-in high, and 15-5/8-in wide (for 15-5/8-in column bottom width)
Height of cap/base squares is added to height of column shaft, allowing columns to be used up to 2-in taller than nominal height - for example, a 5-ft column can be a maximum height of 62-in
Cap/base are cut to allow installation around load support - Craftsman columns are not load-bearing
