Used to make cabinet shelves. Was going to use MDO but found out it is not stocked and over $100 a sheet. Very satisfied with the results.

Stainers beware

While i like this ply in general it frustrates me that the primed side does not take stain very well.. I made a storage shelf for my kitchen appliances to get them off the countertop. The hitch is that in places both sides of the ply are visible. The colonial oak stain is beautiful on the wood veneer side, but the primed side did not take as much stain and came out blotchy. I was able to solve the problem to my wifes satisfaction by adding shelf paper. But as a woodworker I feel hiding grain...

Not what it used to be.

I no longer use the lowe's cut service. There's rarely anyone in the store that knows how to operate the saw, and if there is someone there who does operate the saw, they honestly don't know what they're doing half the time. And every time i've used that saw the blade on it just wrecks the plywood.

Great plywood for your projects

Used this sanded plywood for blocking and reinforcement around the door opening. The surface was smooth and it cut cleanly without major splintering. Sheet was flat and consistent. Good quality for interior projects. Just be sure to check sheets for straightness before loading.

extreme price hike

we purchased this right after church August 25th and after cutting it up and dealing with several voids and imperfections in the laminate I had went upstairs to file the receipt away and realized that both the 1/2 inch and the 3/4 sheets have went up a staggering $24 each! Half inch plywood

Easy to finish but some inconsistencies throughout the interior ply layers. About as good as you can het these days in half inch plywood

Purchased a 3/4 inch sheet 4x8. I had the usual bruised edges from handling either in store or by delivery. I normally use Baltic Birch to cnc wood flags but decided to give this a shot as it was available and seemingly better than what HD is currently offering. Cut Easily using my craftsman saw with diablo ripping blade. Very little tear out when cutting along grain. Cross grain with tape had a tiny amount but nothing too bad. It was good at $45 now not worth it

Purchased this last year for $45 a sheet, now $68? Common you have to have bumped your head if you think 1/2" ply with voids in it is worth this much. At $45 it was decent, veneer is super thin and came across quite a few voids but it was worth ignoring since the price was fair. Made a few cabinets with this product but with the recent hike, I can find better quality at this new price point.

low quality

I wouldn't recommend this for anything you want seen. Definitely a painter, not a stainer. I used it to make 15 shop drawers and it worked out fine. The veneer is the thinnest veneer I have ever worked with. Two swipes with 200 grit block and it wears off. Lots of voids, so edge banding or fill and paint will definitely be required if there are edges exposed in your project. Core material is really soft (a.k.a. "whitewood") so don't expect a lot of structural support or flatness. It warps fairly...
