Good quality saw for a beginner

Would Recommend

I bought this a week or so ago, the calibration process is pretty straightforward. It is a pretty solid and stable saw. The blade is okay for what it is but that can be fixed easily. Customer service at SawStop has been great and responsive.

$400 for keeping your fingers is a deal

Easy to setup and get started with. The safety features are great. It needs a table or scaffold to not jitter too much, the ramp-up can really shake it. The included mitre/push stick are fine, but you'll want to upgrade them.

I've only had it for about a week, but it seems like a well made little saw. It was simple to setup and the way everything tucks away into the body is great for me because I have to stick in a shed when it’s not in use. However, like most people, the main reason I got this saw is for the safety feature. This is one of the most intimidating tools for a new woodworker to use and the safety feature just gives me the peace of mind that if I do happen to make a mistake I'm not going to lose any finge...
