Works well
Mixed 1tsp of colorant per cup of gray Sakrete Mortar mix and it matched the beige I was looking for perfectly. Mix really well. Test some ratios in small batches for extra confidence.
Great for buff grouting
I had a piece of Oklahoma flagstone pool coping that had an umbrella mounted to it, which the wind ripped the entire piece off one night, and I needed some grout to match what had been installed 10+ years ago for the repair. By volume, I used 32 oz. Sakrete Type N mortar, 8 oz. water, and 1 TBSP colorant. It mixed easily in the H2O before adding to the mortar and I think the color came out really good!
Near perfect match!
Perfect! I was trying to match the color of the mortar on my 1944 home. I was using standard S Type gray mortar and adding a 1/2 cup to 60 pounds of gray mortar is very close to perfect. Look at the photo. On the right is a repair I did some years ago with S Type gray mortar and used no colorant. I'm holding a piece of S Type gray mortar I did several days ago with the 1/2 cup of Sakrete Cement Buff Color to 60 pounds of mortar. It is very close and I love the results.
it doesn't take much to change the color.
added just the right tint that I needed
Mixed this color and black to match old mortar
I was repointing a brick sidewalk and was trying to match the old mortar. I had previously used the black color product. It toned down the mortar, but appear to grey. Recently I purchase this buff color and combined it with black. It reduced the grey look and was a much better match with the old mortar.
Cement Color
The color looks nothing like "buff" - it looks orange, but not sure it's worth the trouble returning it.
A little goes a long way.
This one container was perfect to color match a project I was doing. I only need a little bit, but I can save this to match when the project is expanded.
