Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene rubber sheeting is a tough synthetic rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Industrial neoprene, also called by its chemical name chloroprene rubber (CR), was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a rubber sheeting with chemical resistance. While other rubber materials may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene sheet is designed to endure. Our rubber neoprene is actually a compound, made with a 10% neoprene elastomer base and a blend of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene to give it the strength of both rubber materials. This mix of synthetic elastomers gives the neoprene sheet moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid rubber that is highly desired for commercial and industrial applications. The unique mix of styrene rubber and chloroprene neoprene that makes up Rubber-Cal’s sheet neoprene gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other synthetic rubbers. The neoprene rubber holds up against acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals without showing wear for a long time. This rubber neoprene is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects. Though other types of synthetic rubber may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene rubber does. This sheet neoprene is backed with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to skip costly installation and instead turn it into an easy DIY project. Our self-adhesive neoprene sheet offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike. The sheet neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications.
