This thing is absurdly heavy and top heavy specifically. Getting it moved anywhere is a chore, but worth it. Only been running it for a few days but no concerns so far. We'll see what happens when the temperature drops come fall.

Massive upgrade from a propane unit
Easy install, simple menu system, and high efficiency heater. I would highly recommend purchasing this system if you can afford paying up front for massive, long term electrical bill (or propane / natural gas) savings. It also has twice the capacity of our old water heater, which is great for baths. It pulls heat from my garage to heat the water.
The heat pump water heater was pricey, but the possible electric monthly cost shavings plus $500. cash back incentive from SRP helped make the decision easy. It sucks in the heat from my garage to help heat the water. In return the unit pushes ac cold air out.

Easy installation
Installation was pretty straightforward. I had a 50 gallon electric and replaced it with the Rinnai 80 gallon. Plenty of hot water. I was surprised how quickly it got over 100 degrees after turning it on the first time though I did turn on the heating element as well as heat pump. Been in Economy mode since and it's only kicked on the heat pump and we have never run out of hot water despite multiple showers a day and other hot water uses.

We’re very happy! Delivered 1 day early, heated up fast, looks great! Plumber installed it in under an hour.

Works Great
Replaced the old gas water heater with the Rinnai REHP50, the installation is done by a plumber with an expansion tank (recommended in the manual), runs super quiet, and should be highly energy efficiency (based on the electricity usage in the last couple of days).

Rinnai Heat Pump water heater
A new technology to me, but I needed to replace a gas WH with electric to eliminate some ducting, and when I found out there are now heat pump versions I decided to give it a try. Installation was easy with good directions supplied. In e-mode the water heated up very quickly and then we switched it to hybrid to maintain temp more economically. Efficient but Heavy!
The water heater is great! Different install than traditional tanks with in and out on the side of the tank. Definitely recommend delivery of the product as it weighs 246 pounds. Took some engineering to unload. Glad for the rebate from power company AND its conditioning my basement space some.
