Bracket
Brackets strong, needs to come in more sizes.
Great product for what it is, but most newel posts are at least 3-1/2” now. If these came in multiple sizes, it’s a 5-star rating for sure. The brackets work great and the trim for them is awesome but if you have to do a 3-1/2 or 5”+ newel you have to get pretty creative with these.
Caution
This is for a 3 inch post. The post I needed to reattach was 4 inches. It’s ok screws leave a lot to be desired but good ones. It did the job. I bought 2 only needed 1 tried to return an unopened package ,nope it was 91 days. Have to cut and miter new covers.
Easy and effective
Simple installation, all the hardware was included. The wood took a stain and finish very well pre-installation. I have already recommended the kit to my brother who is installing posts for his deck.

Not the best fit
My post is just under 3" and the gap is a lot bigger then I thought it would be. Going to have to fill it. I needed something so I will make it work.
