This 6-inch Sloped Ceiling IC Recessed Housing with Quick Link Connector has several great installation features plus an Air-Tight rating. It is ideal for IC and non-IC new construction applications. Its gasketed Air-Tight housing restricts airflow from conditioned spaces into unconditioned attic space, preventing unnecessary HVAC costs and improving the overall home energy efficiency. The housing and frame are constructed from die-formed corrosion resistant galvanized steel. An aluminum enclosure box ensures proper heat dissipation, allowing this fixture to be used in contact with insulation. The lamp housing compartment can be adjusted to fit ceiling thicknesses from 1/2-inch to 1-1/4-inch. The socket position can be adjusted to accommodate ceiling pitches from 2/12 to 7/12 pitch. It features a universal J-box with snap-out sides. Wiring is made easy with the included wiring quick-connects that allow simple installation of 12-20 AWG wire without using separate wire nuts - simply strip supply wires and push in. The housing has pre-installed nails on the adjustable hanger bars which are easily installed in regular lumber, engineered lumber, and laminated beams. Hanger bars include t-bar mounting clamps for use in suspended t-grid ceilings. The bar hangers have a maximum span of 24-inch and are scored in two locations for fast, clean breaking, allowing housing installation in very narrow joist spacings. It is UL and CUL listed for damp locations and is thermally protected against improper use of lamps.
