You should have seen the look on my face when I tore the brightly colored wrapping paper off the box and opened it up to find a brand new Mueller Proline 1/2-in dia Black Iron Union Fitting! It was epic! Best Christmas EVER! Exactly what I had always wanted. Finally I could correct the errors that were made when gas was run ran to my unattached garage. Finally I could replace that embarrassing flex hose with hard pipe. Finally I could let go of the shame and allow people into my house again...

Sent my wife to get this part after showing her what it looked like and writing it down on a piece of paper. She told the employee what she needed. He didn’t know what a union was. It sounded like he tried to make her feel stupid. Sent her home with a coupling. I went back the next day and found it quickly. I was looking for a brass fitting but this worked well. 4 stars because I had to go back the next day due to the lack of knowledge from the employee.

It could have been a little cheaper.

What can I say it was a pipe Union and it worked great just what I needed.

This Union is poorly made. The threads are more coarse than unions made in the past. After installing this Union on my new gas dryer I could not get it to seal completely no matter what I did. I had to reinstall a 50year old union back on my dryer in order to stop the gas from leaking. I would not recommend this product for use because of it not sealing properly.

Plumbing

This product was OK however it’s always hard to fine because nothing is ever in the right place if I was not an experienced plumber I would buy the wrong stuff half of the time not knowing what it supposed to look like.

Worked as intended

The iron fitting met expectations, showcasing durability. Its robust construction ensures long-lasting performance.

Unions where applicable are the solution

Wide assortment of fittings available make for a custom project. The parts, in a variety of sizes bought well in advance will make the trips back and forth end, with the last trip with returns for unused parts.

If there is one thing pipefitter unions should be doing it is making more unions like this one. It works as advertised, or as it would be advertised if it was advertised.
