we upgraded the shower base from the Utile wall kit as this base seemed more sturdy and durable. ordered the walls separately. was impressed as were the contractors installing in this product - commented that he had not seen one with plywood reinforcement

Under base is ridiculous, uneven and not supported

The rim of this acrylic base sits 3/8 - 1" lower than the base. Now I understand that the center needs to be lowest as the water needs to drain here. However the blocking under the shower base needs to be level and its not. If the rim of the base is set on a flat (concrete) surface the center is 3/8" off the concrete, so you have a trampoline when you step on it. Which okay, maybe its for room for tile or whatever. bathroom makeover

We bought this product for the base of our shower when remodeling our bathroom. So far this has been great. We did not put it in our contractor did but did not comment on any difficulty with plumbing. Was very heavy and appeared sturdy. Since installed we have had no problems. Had a different smaller base for a shower prior to remodel and it gave and made cracking sounds. High Quality Base

We were putting in a shower for my mother in law and used this base. Very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of it. We looked at a couple others and if you pushed on the base they gave a little. This one was firm and didn’t give. Very happy with it.

Maax Shower Base

Lowe's did a great job on deliver service. Maax manufacturer made a design change and did not inform the public or include it it the description. I have purchased this shower base before as I am a home improvement contractor. The drain is usually molded into the base, no need to install a separate part as it adds another seam for leaks. The one that arrived I had to install the center drain although it was supplied. Molded is better this one is not my preference. AP
