I purchased two of these for a heavy Larson storm door. My original closers weren’t slowing the door enough and it kept hitting me as I came inside. Before buying replacements, I did try adjusting the old closers first (which I recommend everyone do—it’s an easy adjustment using a Phillips screwdriver). The picture shows not a white colored item. That is what I was expecting. received a white unit. Had to order directly from Lawson. They said they would change picture to reflect color white or black. Haven't yet!

hold open feature junk
this Larson storm/screen door that came with the closers is less than 2 years and being in a cold climate was only used for a total of maybe 6-8 months. The lower closer with the "tap to stay open" feature worked for a few months but upon using it this spring it no longer "pops" out in order to close the door. A screw driver is needed to pry the "button" up. Larson only warranties for 1 year and were more than happy to sell me the closer only for $37 and bonus free shipping. No thank you! I will...

Indicated needed but it wasn't!
The ordering process of the door indicated that this item had to be purchased with the door. It did not. Even though we didn't need it I kept it having had not so good experiences with supplied hold open screen devices. I was also indicated that extra door sweep rubber needed to be purchased. It too did not. I returned that.
