All my appliances are Kitchenaid and I have never had this issue. This is the 3rd Kitchenaid cooktop I’ve purchased in the last 15-20 years and I’m so disappointed. The stovetop works great and fit well so no complaints there but these strange spots keep appearing in the stainless that have me so puzzled. Kitchen Aide builds a quality cooktop.
Overall the product is very good. Grates are heavy duty and heavy. Kitchen Aides layout for burner knobs has a nice touch along with safety features. Installation was very easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stove top is warranty replacement for another Kitchen Aid stove top that had four burners as opposed to five one this newer model. Personally like it, just didn’t expect ignition knobs to be positioned facing south, as opposed to north on previous Kitchen Aid stove top. Great performance for a good value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and I’m very pleased with it. I replaced a 20 year-old GE profile and this has so much more cooking power. It is easy to clean, and the grates just wipe down with a dishcloth. Strangely enough, it didn’t come with the right burner tops, but my appliance store was able to remedy that the same day as the install.
