KOHLER Awaken Matte Black 6-in Built-In Shower Faucet System

Terrible pressure

Terrible pressure. I had to return. The water pressure was so low. Not worth having or the money.

Hard to handle

We purchased this shower almost a year ago. The valve used to turn on the hand held feature is extremely difficult. We were told that the more we ised the valve, the easier it would become. That has not been the case and we ready to rip it off the wall in frustration. Koehler has always exemplified quality, but this product comes across as a bargain basement item.

Terrible design

This is so poorly designed, it is almost unusable. Usually, when you have a hand held shower, you want to have the main spray off.. With this, they are both on at the same time. We bought it because our old Kohler (worked well for years) had begun to leak. I never would have bought this if it was clearer how it worked (or how it didn't work).

Overall great shower head system

I like the ease of install and use, but its a bit large for my size shower 60 x 30. I recommend measuring size of shower before purchasing and comparing space. Other than that its made well and works great without having to install a slide bar for a handheld!

Opportunities for improvement.

Great look and stylish finish. One of the tough things is the controls to change from shower head to handheld. Mechanically tough when wet.

Great product

Please see my other review. I only add the finishes are excellent on both our units

Disappointed

Good water flow but I was disappointed to find out that you could only pause the handheld shower, not the overhead stationary one. This means the overhead shower head is always on - very inconvenient when you're just trying to clean the walls of the shower or if you have a broken wrist and you're not supposed to get it wet.

Not the best design

The description did not state that the construction of a large portion of this item is plastic. Metal would have been preferred for long-term durability. Also the knob for adjusting flow between the two shower heads is very difficult to turn, especially with wet and soapy hands. A large lever would have been a more usable design.

Overall nice design

I like the dual heads and the removable side. Wish it had a more powerful spray.
