What Customers Are Saying
The clamps are generally well-made and durable, with features like easy adjustability, quick-release mechanism, and rubber tips that help secure materials without damage. However, some users have reported issues with the clamps bending, slipping, or even breaking under heavy loads, suggesting they may be better suited for lighter-duty tasks. Overall, the clamps provide good functionality for most woodworking needs, though a small number of users have encountered performance problems.

For me perfect.
I bought these clamps about a month ago. I have not read any of the reviews if I did I would not have bought them. I am an avid wood worker hobbyist. I have bought various sizes and all have worked perfectly. Personally I like the ratchet grip because now it is so much easier to clamp up one handed. After reading the reviews I felt I should add my positive experience. I will only use these for light work which is why I bought them in the first place. For me these are meant to be a step up from v...

one of the best
I have 2 of these same Irwin clamps for over 15 years or they certainly look the same and they have been used quite a bit not only by myself but from others that borrowed them building decks, pole barns , etc. I notice that the ones I have don't clamp unless you apply a little pressure pushing in with the handle or against the jaw that clamps. Once it tightens, it stays tight. They have been and still are good clamps.
Useless
I bought 6, down to 2 that work. 4 others trash when clutch starts slipping. With so many complaints on same issue, it’s shocking that Irwin hasn’t addressed the issue.

Durable
I've had several of these clamps for 5+ years that are the first I reach for on a project. Don't get all the negative reviews as I've tortured these clamps and they have held up great.

Disappointed
I was once an Irwin fan, now I am just disappointed. Purchased a couple of these clamps. They died within a month. Replaced them with Dewalt brand for about the same price and the Dewalt are still going strong. The Dewalts outrank the Irwin in ALL categories.

Great clamps!
Not a ton to say. They work well and don’t bend. The rubber pads fall off frequently but that happens with almost all clamps. These aren’t quite as robust as my Dewalt or Bessey clamps but they still work great. Glue cleans off these better than the other brands I mentioned. Overall, these are great clamps for the money.

Slipping clutch
I received two 12” clamps from my daughter for my birthday. One works most of the time. One does not. The teeth are to shallow. Once pressure is applied it slips. Time for Irwin to re Engineer.

Irwin Quick-Grip 24 inch Clamp is the real deal!
This 24 inch clamp does everything you wish your cheaper clamp did. It actually holds and it has the power to move that bent board back on to the upright, where it should be. The tag says it can deliver 1,000lbs of force and I believe it.

Strong and Easy to Use Bar Clamp
Although this is listed as a "24-in Medium Duty Clutch Lock Bar Clamp", it was displayed as a "Heavy Duty 1000 lb. Clamp" on its packaging, and I would agree that this is a heavy duty clamp. It is sturdily made and the screw-in clamp mechanism delivers plenty of clamping power. My first use was to clamp kitchen chairs that needed repair, the clamping process worked flawlessly.

Useful. I see some other posters have out so they didn't work my work just fine and they tightened and sailed their tightness I have no idea what this guy didn't have any luck maybe they got I have no idea I've had mine for years and they work perfectly.
