Tee nuts put steel threads into wood without counter boring. These tee nuts are barrel shaped fasteners with internal threading and are used when a flush surface is needed. They have a flat base with prong projections running parallel to the barrel. Use these prong nuts in hard or soft wood as well as plastic or particle board. Simply hammer the locking prongs into a predrilled hole until flush.

a lot of curse words for these awful little things

Would Not Recommend

cheap made but not at all cheap to buy for what it is. Comes only in 2 packs at Lowes I had 16 to install and consistently 1 out of four would crumple. The spikes fold in on themselves thereby spinning the bolt around inside the cabinet. Fortunately I was able to get inside the cabinet w/ pliers to hold the nut & remove it but considering the application of many of t-nuts puts them in an inaccessible place, this could be a real nightmare to deal with.
