Hunt Fig is one of the best fig trees for home gardeners. It is a reliable producer of quality figs and is more cold tolerant than many other fig varieties. Its long necked, violet brown fruits are smaller than many other varieties and have fewer seeds. The light red flesh has an interesting sweet flavor and is excellent for eating fresh. Hunt Fig Tree is well adapted to the humid, rainy areas of Southeastern states. Fruits ripen in July and is self fruiting, so no pollinator is required. Hardy in USDA zones 7 to 10.
