Bought 2 boxes last season after Christmas for cheap. Tested them all in the box and put away. Got them out this year and 3 of the 4 strands worked when testing before putting on the tree. Ok, that's why I bought a bunch. Hooked them all together and put them on the tree and they worked for a couple weeks until a section of 30 bulbs went out. Exactly what I needed when the 4-year-old lights I had just quit working. Price was good so it was easier to buy new ones that figure out what was wrong with the old ones. Wasteful, yes, but practical.
