Not a subdued lighting. These bulbs are bright!
We were very pleased with the brightness of these lightbulbs. They were going in a new light fixture and we weren't sure what to expect but it is truly the type of brightness you would expect from natural daylight. Insofar as it is very illuminating. It really brightened up our dining room. If you are looking for a "warm" lighting effect then you might not want these.
