Break It down

Why do I need to buy all 5 pieces. 2 of the pieces are used for an appliance which slides in against a wall. The other 3 pieces are used for installing the range in an island. This should be 2 separate sets. So the customer can get just the parts they need, without throwing away half of the set which was not needed.

Works if you buy 2 kits. Shame on you GE.

Why is there a ~12 inch long notch on the edge of both the left and right trim pieces? The range does not fit into that notch, so it just looks bad and leaves a large gap beside the range. Purchase this for my 30 in gas slide in range from GE. We were remodeling our kitchen and due to covid and other delays it took some time before I took it out to install. The left piece has a notch in it along the edge between the oven and the trim piece leaving a gap about 6 in Long. Installation instructions do not show this Gap. They arrived in good condition, nice packaging. However, these did not work with my range. The gap between the range and the countertop was too big for the trim kit to work. Honestly, in order for this trim kit to work, you need to have a very small space between your range and the countertop. Ideally 3/8 of an inch or less.

terrible design plan.

I have same issue as other people. The piece that is notched prevents a flush installation to close the gap between counter top and range. There should be 2 unnotched pieces.

Waste of Time

I don't know who ordered the trim: Lowes or Installers. They passed the blame on each other. The stove I ordered does not need trim.

Why does JXFILLR1BB have 12 inch notch in it?

Why does the JXFILLR1BB have a 12+inch notch in it? Bought it for my cafe 30 gas slide in stove. Useless with the notch on 2 of the prices. It’s the model number you recommend. Why does the JXFILLR1SS not have notches. It’s the same model number except for the color. Infact in many sites the are listed together. Eagerly Awaiting your response

Difficult to cut and doesn't look good installed

The instructions say "no tools required" but this is not true unless your counter happens to be the exact size. These are solid metal pieces and I needed to take it to a tool and die shop to have it cut to fit. It was very inconvenient to install and required measuring at home and cutting off site. It also doesn't look good once you install it.

Not efficient but they worked.

Ridiculously overpriced, but it worked. Item offers 5 total pieces of stainless steel to help merge counter tops and slide-in range. Because of our arrangement, we only needed 2 of the 5 pieces total. I think GE is exploiting customers with this kit that could easily be two separate kits. We needed to trim the pieces to fit and they cut well. Overall, we were satisfied with the final product but now we have additional pieces that we need to dispose of.
