DEWALT Planer Knives

Worked as Advertised

The planer knives were easy to install following the directions in the DeWalt book that came with the planer. (DeWalt directions are also available on line.) I did number the guards (1,2,3) to be sure I put a new knife in each place. This will particularly help when the knives have to be reversed. I made the order on line to be sure the knives were available when I drove more than 15 miles to the store. That process also worked well. DeWalt replacement planer blades

I normally don't care for planer blades that can't be sharpened and re-used but the quality of the steel and the machining of these blades make them a value. I get a years worth of use from the set and compared to the cost of sharpening re-usable blades plus travel and time delays I actually am ahead.

Using these blades

I have used my DeWalt planer now for 3 years and found that if you take light cuts (1/4 turn or less), these blades will last a long time. I owned another brand (delta) planer and their blades for that planer were much thinner and smaller in width than these blades and didn't hold us as long. I would venture to guess the heat of planning got to the Delta blades. These blades are much thicker and wider.

Replacement Knives

I purchased this product due to the blades on my Dewalt 735 planer becoming dull and deformed after countless boards. I have been extremely satisfied with the Dewalt planer, and at 50 bucks the price for these blades seem somewhat expensive, however for the quality of the product once it has passed through them, it is well worth it.

Replacement knives will get you planning again

The plastic sleeve is great for storing the blades, cardboard around it is a waste, and got tossed quickly. Blades cut as expected, and when they wear out, time for new ones.

Top-notch knives

My planer gets a lot of use and these knives perform well. Change-outs are easy and flipping them gives you a brand new set once you’ve worn out the first side.

I’ve used my planer often over the past 2 years and had to replace the blades recently. During the replacement procedure I throughly serviced the unit and replaced the blades. It now runs as good as new. Now ready to take on oak,hickory and maple boards once again

Planer knives

These knives are the only ones that will fit in my planer. They are sharp, and work good, but they are a throw-away item. I would like to be able to have them sharpened so I could use them longer.

Hope they last as long as the originals.

I hope these take the beating and last as long as the originals. I've run a lot of different woods through the planer including a lot of aged hard walnut that generally dulls and wears out bits and a blades in no time.

Good but not great

These blades are easy to change and use. I wish they were more resistant to becoming dull. They become dull within a few days of use. Can they be made from a harder material....... The price is right and I will keep using it. www.woodcraftsbyski.com
