GREAT PRODUCT!

i don't usually take the time to go online and write reviews, but I found this product to be an excellent choice for resolving these critical issues with loose newel posts in comparison to another product from a different manufacturer that I recently purchased at a competitor's store that turned out to be deceptive and poorly designed for the exact same price as this one.

Solid

I used this to repair an end post that had seen too many occasions of my grandson hanging on it and was very loose. The brackets are made of extruded aluminum and are very solid. The screws are your average piece but 3 of the 12 longer ones broke during installation (twisted off) and I ended up using construction screws when I was able to remove the broken piece. I think some sturdier long screws are warranted. The trim pieces fit nicely and are cut very well. Overall it is a good solution.

Don’t buy these because they are too short.

All your newel post brackets are 3 inches. Guess what? All newel posts are 3 1/2 inches. Unbelievable.

Exactly what I was looking for

Solid, good hardware. Loved the trim to complete job. Made my basement stair posts much more solid!!

Decent solution

Wasn't able to secure the newel post with a floor bolt. Seems pretty solid after install. Be sure to tighten a little at a time going around to each side to make sure it remains plumb.

VERY GOOD PRODUCT

The pieces were all compatible with the newel post, easy to stain and varnish, simple to install, and look perfect when done!

Cleats are awesome, screws need updating.

The cleats work amazingly well. The only complaint I have is the screw heads are traditional Phillips head. They need to be a square or star bit head so they don’t strip out, let’s face it, Phillips head is out dated at this point.
