What Customers Are Saying
The product has a mixed reception. Customers appreciate the attractive appearance and easy installation, describing the floors as having a nice finish, beautiful colors, and a natural wood-like look. The waterproof and scratch-resistant features are also highlighted as key benefits. However, many report quality and durability issues, such as problems with the locking mechanism and the flooring feeling more like laminate than real wood. Some felt the product did not match the online descriptions. Overall, the quality and reliability of the product are questionable, and customers should carefully consider the tradeoffs.

Let me just say the floors are beautiful. I love that they come in 4 different lengths. That gives the flooring a more natural wood look. Lowe’s had the best price around which is the only reason they get 1 star. Three dollars cheaper than my installer could get them from his distributer at discount. Delivery was fast and I had my 72 boxes (1600sqft) in 8 days. Other flooring stores had told me it could be several months until delivery due to the supply chain issues. The Hydropel is a bi...

Do Not Buy This.
We bought this because it was a very attractive floor and the people at Lowe's said it was excellent and by a trusted company. They sent two of their professional installation teams out to install it and neither could. We went back to our local Lowe's store and spoke to the manager, a very nice and helpful person, who contacted the regional sales manager. Come to find out, the EVP is working with Bruce because the floor cannot be properly installed by following the provided instructions or by...
Poor delivery arrangement
I ordered 55+ boxes of this. at checkout, i gave them special delivery instruction for a elevator 3rd floor apartment. Unfortunately, on the date of delivery, i got a call saying they cancelled my delivery because they don't load up to the elevator, blah, blah, blah. i would expect an advance notice so i could arrange helpers. end up me & my brother had to load the 55+ boxes from the curbside, each box weighs 40lbs. it took us 2 hrs going up & down, and my arms & knees are all sore now :(

It is not waterproof
These floors were installed by the home builder. Had a water spill and the floors bubbled up and I have to have all my living areas replaced. I don’t recommend these floors.

Too many damaged long boards
This is a pretty floor. Bruce advertises it as solid wood? Really? With that cardboard core? It is a very thin veneer of wood. I used this in another color and same situation-most of the long boards are damaged. And there are more long boards than any other size. Yes I did use them as cut pieces at the ends of the room but still had so many damaged that I spent more time examining boards than I did installing. And Lowes does not answer their phone or help.

hickory engineered hardwood
I put it in and finished today, so I have no comment on real durability.I also bought 2 extra boxes for blending purposes and the like. What can I say? It's a good looking floor. Is the veneer thin? Yes. for $3.60 a sq. ft. I won't complain. Does it seem to be slightly toned down from true 3/4" solid hardwood as far as shade variation? maybe a little but again....price it against a GOOD 5" solid...and it's waterproof. I will update as time goes on but this product probably won't be available m...
NOT as pictured...
We purchased a box of the Bruce Hydropel Natural Hickory to see how it would look in our house. We only chose this one because the picture shown looks like actual natural hickory, with nice light and dark grains, and we were hoping it was going to look that same way in person. IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THIS PICTURE. These photos have to be of some other product because after receiving the box and seeing how light it is (more like maple - with very little variation at all) the picture on the Bruce...

Beautiful color but product is too soft and flexib
There is way too much flex with this floor. You can feel every imperfection in your subfloor. We took out carpet and laminate. Struggled to lay this where the carpet was due to an imperfect subfloor but assumed we would not have issues were the laminate was. However there are soft divots when you walk even where the laminate felt perfect.

style. We appreciate you taking the time to enter your comments about our Hydropel engineered hardwood product.
The installation method for the Hydropel Engineered Hardwood is by using the Angle/Angle Technology. Because the installation method is not like the usual Click & Lock/Lock & Fold installation - it is recommended that when installing the 2nd row that the board be kept at its natural angle slightly raised off the subfloor. You can use a scrap piece of laminate to support the row if needed.
For your convenience, please visit the link below to view our full installation recommendations for our Hydropel Engineered Hardwood. You can also look up our installation video on YouTube.
Due to the high demand of the Hydropel Engineered Hardwood, it took longer to have the product available for ordering; however, we listened to our customers and now have plenty of stock available to have it shipped as soon as possible.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and hope that this information is helpful.
