Poor design

One of these was already in our house when we moved in. It is very poorly designed. The side access to the fire box is inconvenient; you have to crouch down to see the fire or to position logs and kindling. There's a flap that hangs down that takes viewing into the fire box even more difficult, as well as it gets in the way when you're trying to put wood in. I literally have to get on my hands and knees to put stuff in this stove or to poke the fire.

Doesn't work like old style stoves

So Far I've hated the stove. Hard to light. Since then I've watched a video on how to light the stove. I will try again. The person in video had same dislike until he learned how to light it. Lighting it looks simple. Its just backwards from old ways. The stove itself is nice looking. I haven't figured why there is an ash pan, since nothing I've seen ever puts ashes in it. To remove ashes you have to remove ash and some hot coals because you can't separate them. This is really annoying an...

Not safe like our old Ashley stove was.

It gets too hot and won’t hold a fire very long. We have had an Ashley stove for 28 years before and it was great but this one is terrible

Wobbly

Returning. Looks like the welds are broke on the bottom. Stove doesn’t set evenly on the floor, very wobbly. Our floor is perfectly flat and smooth. It’s to dangerous to use. Very disappointed and so glad we hadn’t sold our old one.

Great stove

We have had one for seven years now and still works great . I had to put in a new grate. In about three years, the one that came with the stove was cast iron and.it burnt the bottom out so I went to a machine shop and they cut one out of 3/4 inch steel and it is as good as the day I put it in. You will have to put in new fire brick about every three years. Heats our whole house about 1200 sq. ft.
