23 HP, 726cc V-Twin Kawasaki FR series engine is a commercial grade power plant that features cast iron cylinder liners for long life, automatic compression release for easy starting and internally vented carburetor for better fuel management
52-Inch commercial grade 10-gauge welded deck design that's 5.5 inches in deep with a reinforced leading edge provides the airflow needed to tackle tough mowing conditions with an increased evenness of cut
Commercial hydro-gear ZT 3100 trans axles provide enhanced torque and load capacity with mowing speeds of 8 mph forward and 4 mph reverse
Self-adjusting belt tension technology keeps deck belt tension constant, which maximizes belt life, minimizes wear and maintains a consistent, quality cut with minimal adjustments necessary
Easy and intuitive foot-operated deck lift system provide effortless adjustments between 15 cutting positions in 1/4-in increments from 1.5 inches to 5 inches with a simple vertical pin selection

I ordered an Ariens Apex 52" on July 30th 2026 by walking into Lowe's in Oneonta, NY. They had one in front of the store which I didn't want because of scratches and exhaust already starting rust from sitting outside. People at the desk assured me I will get one from the crate and it might take a while. We settled for August 18th delivery. August 17th I get a message says my new delivery date is August 19th. I had to take off one more day from work. August 18th I get a call from the store ...

Close quality build to commercial level ZTR mower

I upgraded from the Ariens Ikon, but same deck size. The Apex deck is significantly deeper/taller and seems to handle tall, thick grass better. The armrest and seat are not as well built compared to the 2018 Ikon. The Apex is considerably heavier than the Ikon, and the deck hardware to the chassis is far superior to the Ikon. Drive and control are also better. The cut does not disappoint, and I expected no less than the Ikon, which I was very pleased with. The only real disappointment is the Kaw...

Fantastic mower

Would Recommend

I purchased my Apex 52” 7 years ago and it’s been the best mower I have ever owned. I mow 2 acres full of hills and trees and the power and quality of cut are excellent. I have the mulching kit installed and it is priceless for leaving very little grass clippings behind. Added the trailer hitch and use a dump trailer to haul stuff around my property which is a life saver for me. Would highly recommend this mower!!

Ordered the Apex 52 with a confirmed delivery date of 6/9/26. The night before received a text that delivery was scheduled for 6/9/26 between 7:30 and 11:30Am. Morning of 6/9/26 received an email stating that machine would now be delivered on 6/11/26 (or later). Called customer service, response was "I'm sorry" and that's all we can do. I took the morning off from work to be here for delivery (unpaid I'm self employed). Disappointed with Lowes never again.
