This siding mounting kit provides a stable, finished base for outdoor light fixtures on 1/2 inch lap double siding and 4 inch height siding. Made from solid, sturdy plastic with a textured, paintable black surface, the block measures 10.98 inches long by 6.77 inches wide and includes a built-in electrical box. Installation starts by drilling a hole through the siding lap to run a wire outside, then removing the knockout from the electrical box and inserting the cable connector, threading the wire through, and mounting the box with the included screws before placing your light fixture. The kit works across siding types including T-111, HardiePlank lap siding, and other flat wall surfaces. Seal the top of the box, leaving the bottom drainage hole open, to help keep water out.
