What’s a Succulent Living Wall?
This sort of wall can sound confusing to some, but it’s actually simple and quite interesting. It’s a wall with shelving that succulent plants sit on as decorative pieces. However, it’s arranged in such a way that the shelves aren’t visible, so it looks like the plants are either floating or attached to the wall directly, giving the illusion of the plants being the wall.
How Do You Water a Succulent Living Wall?
To water your wall-mounted planters, first remove the planters from the wall and place them flat on the ground. Use a watering can to thoroughly water the succulents. Allow the succulents to stay in a horizontal position while they soak up the water. Don’t return the planter to the wall until the soil has dried slightly and won’t easily fall out of the planter when it’s returned to a vertical position.
How Often Do You Water Succulents?
How often you should water your succulents depends on a variety of factors, including the type of succulents, the humidity and temperature in your area, and the soil type. Generally, it’s a good idea to water them once a month when they’re located indoors and once every two weeks when they’re located outdoors. You’ll be able to tell when succulents need water because the soil becomes too dry, and the succulent leaves are no longer as smooth and firm as they should be.
Are Succulent Walls Easy to Maintain?
Succulents are easy to maintain as long as you don’t overwater them, and succulent walls are no different. However, you do need to take the extra step of removing the wall-mounted planters and placing them on the ground every time you water them. This may be hard for some people to do, especially if the wall planter is large and heavy. Besides this extra step, succulent walls are easy to take care of.

Instructions
The photos and instructions that follow show how to build a small planter box but include dimensions for building a large one. The only other difference is that you’ll need to add more screws on each side to hold the acrylic sheet against the back of the large planter.
