Wall-Mounted Shelves and Cubby

Just inside the front ends, drill 5/32-inch mounting holes through the left side of the top left pipe and left side of the bottom left pipe.

Spray three coats of paint (Gloss White shown) on the insides and outsides of the pipe assembly.

Measure the height of the pipe cubbies and lightly mark the vertical shelf that distance from the bottom end. Slide the mounting bracket about halfway into a 23.6-inch shelf, hold the shelf level, with the bottom edge against the vertical shelf mark, and mark the bracket mounting hole locations on the wall. Add anchors, screw the bracket to the wall, and insert the shelf.

Measure 10 inches up from the bottom right shelf and repeat steps 2 and 3 to install the 17.7-inch shelf with the left end screwed to the vertical shelf.

Hold the pipe cubby in position against the vertical shelf and bottom right shelf. Mark the mounting hole locations on the vertical shelve. Then mark the wall where the inside tops of the upper left and upper right pipes touch. (These marks should be the same distance beneath the lower right shelf.)

Rest a 2-inch corner brace on the wall with one leg pointing down and the top of the other leg just even with a mark on the wall from the previous step. Mark the mounting screw locations, install wall anchors there, and screw the bracket to the wall. Repeat for the other bracket.
