The Beauty of Baseboard Moulding

Baseboard moulding is the visual anchor for your room. It keeps the floor transition from room to room cohesive and clean. Baseboards hide joints, cover expansion gaps and add nice decorative borders to the room, while various types of transitions help pull the flooring pieces together seamlessly for a finished look.

DIY Baseboard Installation

Once you’ve installed your flooring, it’s time to frame the floors with baseboard moulding.

Additional Floor Moulding Trim Types

Smartcore oak vinyl floor reducer, wood floor and brown planter with a green plant.

Floor moulding is a great way to complete the look of any room or floor installation. Add any one of these floor moulding trims to help define your space and finish off a room:

T-moulding is used as a transition piece between two floors of the same height, whereas a reducer provides a smooth transition between floors of different heights.

Carpet trim is a strip that acts as the transition piece between carpet and other flooring surfaces. It also covers seams, protects the edges of the flooring and prevents frays.

A seam binder is another transition piece that’s used to cover seams, keep carpet from fraying and prevent vinyl floor seams from curling up.
