Types of Portable Fans
The most common types of portable fans are:
Desk Fan: It is a small electric fan designed to be placed on a desk or table which gives focused cooling and air circulation for personal comfort.
Pedestal Fan: Pedestal portable fans are also known as floor fans. They are tall, standing fans with adjustable height and a moveable tilt that circulates air efficiently to a specific area in the room.
Tower Fan: A sleek, space-saving fan with a tall and thin profile. It circulates air efficiently and provides a cooling breeze without using traditional blades.
Before you Begin
Before you start to clean a portable fan, make sure to unplug it from the electric supply or turn it off if it is powered by batteries.
How to Clean Loose Surface Dust
The best part about dealing with loose surface dirt on your portable fans is that you do not need to dismantle it to clean the blades. Here’s what you need to do.
- To clean the dust, use compressed air or a hairdryer and set it on cool air.
- Using a vacuum with a brush, carefully clean over all of the surfaces on the fan.
- Lightly wipe away any smudges with a damp microfiber cloth. Let it dry. This is the similar process to clean a tower portable fan.
