How To Clean an Iron

• Before initiating the cleaning, a few preparatory steps are needed.
• For models equipped with a water reservoir, make sure to empty it to prevent any leaks during the cleaning of the iron’s surface. It’s worth noting that not all irons have a water reservoir, so if your iron doesn’t have one, you can skip this step.
• If your Iron has a non-stick coating, use gentle cleaning techniques to avoid any damage.
• Always check the manufacturer’s instructions before attempting any of the following steps.

• Create a paste using two tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of water.
• Using a soft cloth, apply this paste on the soleplate to remove any scorch marks or sticky residue.
• For more rigid residues, gently scrape with a rubber spatula to avoid scratches on the iron surface.
• Then, after a while, once you are done with scraping, remove the paste with a clean, damp cloth.

• To clean the steam vents, dip a cotton swab in distilled white vinegar and carefully insert it into the steam vents. This will help to dissolve any mineral buildup.
• Avoid pushing the swab too far into the vents.

• To clean the water reservoir, fill it by about ⅓ and mix equal parts of distilled water and white vinegar.
• Then plug in the iron, set its mode to steam and let it steam for about five minutes to clean any buildup inside. 
• After 5 minutes, carefully remove the vinegar solution from the iron and refill the reservoir with clean water. Steam for another few minutes, then empty the reservoir completely and make sure no vinegar smell is left.

Take a lightly dampened cloth and carefully clean the rest of the iron's body. Be careful not to let water enter any of the electrical components.
