A Step-by-Step Guide to Make DIY Linen Spray

Here is a step-by-step guide to making your own linen spray.

The Ratio

The important part about making a homemade linen spray is the ratio of ingredients used. The ratio of base to distilled water is 1:4. You can use any size glass bottle to put the spray in but the ratio must be right. The more essential oil, the stronger the aroma will be.

Customize Your Spray

You can customize your DIY Linen Spray by adding multiple oils to make a new scent.
Here are some examples.

  • Lavender and chamomile can be mixed together. There is no fixed ratio for the oils to be mixed. Add 30 drops of chamomile and 15 drops of lavender. This is one of the best DIY bed linen sprays as it can be used in bedrooms before sleeping for a more relaxing aroma.
  • Peppermint and lemon give a fruity and citrus scent, which is great for feeling fresh.

Things to Remember

  • Store the bottle in a cool place so that the mist does not evaporate quickly.
  • Essential oils can degrade under direct, harsh light. Consider using dark-colored bottles.
  • Essential oils are organic and safe, but make sure to test them on a fabric to see if you’re allergic to it. It can be possible that the strong scent can be overwhelming so consider distilling it.
