Step 1

Cut dowels of various thicknesses into random lengths using a miter saw. Cut the ends of some pieces at an angle.

Step 2

Connect the cut dowels to form the main branch. Start with the thickest pieces for the bottom and graduate to smaller pieces. Attach pieces using glue.

Step 3

Drill holes in the thicker pieces to add smaller offshoots and attach with glue.

Step 4

Paint the mounting panels. (We used Valspar Bird Song Blue, #CI 185.) Let dry.

Step 5

Branch art full view

Mount by drilling holes for two short dowel pieces on the back of the tree and the front of a board. Glue together and let dry.
