The deep fill option works great in conjunction with bulky loads or when you have a larger than normal load of regular wash. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHING MACHINE!! I didn't read all the terrible reviews for this washer until it was too late. After only 7 months of having this washer the drum keeps unbalancing and stops 1/2 through a cycle.
