We purchased this door in May 2023. The locking mechanism has broken twice in three years . I would NOT recommend this door! It is NOT reliable!!!

Oh where to start. I paid the local Lowe's to have it delivered to my house because it's rather large. It cost me $75 or $85 to have this done. It was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m., Well that didn't happen so I called them around 4:30 and they said they were running late. They showed up around 6:00. I had a carpenter lined up to install it the next day. I noticed when he took it out of the packing that then ends of the door were way bowed in near the middle of the sides. L...

Noisy and cheap sounding operation

The door has plastic weatherstripping that makes noises ranging from crinkling plastic to finger nails on a chalkboard when sliding the door. It looks nice in appearance, but the sliding operation is very low quality. Lowe’s contractor just now (June ‘23) replaced the sliding door because of several issues and the new one sounds even worse. It’s a great sliding door, well made except there was a ding on one corner which I’m sure it was repaired at building facility… there’s plastic edges that hold in place as is pre-hung and you Need to cut it off with good cutting tool as well as all the 2*2 s all around. You will need screws to attach sides and top as it does not include them. Lock and handle included as well as 2 keys. Once in place you need to raise the wheels from sliding door with screw so it can glide freely, I’ll add pics

I am so glad I had this installed by a good professional installer as in my opinion it is not for a part time DIY person. The frame was slightly bowed around the glass panel but we managed to fix that, the hardware was missing the keeper plate so we had to go back to Lowes and they had a pack of them as we were not the first to have one missing (it should be pre fixed to the frame if your checking apparently). These doors are awesome. Nice having the low E glass for hot summer sun. The frame got warped a little.I had to make sure to push the middle of the frame out before securing it. The screws to adjust the sliding door are awkward. One didn't work. Still trying to figure out how to raise it with out returning the whole installed door!!! There must be a way.

Vinyl sliding door

The threshold is very high, the sliding door opening is smaller than expected . The vinyl jambs need to be plumbed and shimmed to accommodate the deflection in the product prior to final installation. The doors operate fairly smoothly and the flange around the perimeter makes for a solid connection to the house framing elements.

Good Product

Easy to install. One thing I noticed is there is one area on the corner that the seal sticks out, preventing the screen door from closing without pulling in on the door. This can be fixed by filing down, but the QC should have caught this. Other than that, good door that is a very reasonable price. Especially since it’s tempered glass with low-e.
