Moving On From Pitt Boss

I’ve owned my Pit Boss for two years, and while I’ve always loved the way it cooks, I can no longer ignore the safety and reliability issues. I am a diligent owner—I vacuum the fire pot out and clean the grates before every single cook—yet I have dealt with four separate burn-back incidents into the hopper. Lowe’s Service Was Miserable

Not a reflection of the Pit Boss, but Lowe’s service. This order was originally scheduled to be assembled and delivered to my home on 4/15. The morning of, I received an email that the delivery was rescheduled, after calling multiple times to find out why it was rescheduled, I was told it had not been assembled yet. I’ve been really impressed with this grill. It solved the problem of wanting a smoker that’s easy to use but still produces great flavor. Assembly was straightforward and the build quality feels sturdy and well made. The temperature control has been very consistent, which makes longer cooks much easier. Overview: I've been using this for about 6 months and so far I have to say I'm really pleased with its smoke performance. Temperatures are consistent, the dampers do a nice job of regulating the amount of smoke, and the propane grill functions exactly how you would expect. Talk to a manager with delivery problems.

The product was great according to my son. Was not there to enjoy it or his cooking. The Manager was good finding out what went wrong. WHAT I DID NOT LIKE WAS THE CUSTOMER AND DELIVERY SERVICE My wife and I from MD, flew up to Washington State to visit our son and his wife who just had their first baby. Awful Experience

I regret to say that this purchase has been the worst and most frustrating experience I have ever had while shopping at Lowes. The scale of incompetence and apathy shown by Lowes staff in the Lowe’s Austell store has been disappointing to say the least. I don’t expect you to do anything to rectify the situation because, like your staff, you likely do not care enough to even pick up the phone. Pit Boss Can't Do Temp Sensors

I'll join in with the inability of the smoker to maintain temperature. Tried to cook a brisket on our first smoke (yep, maybe should have gone with a pork shoulder or something less challenging) and the smoker could NOT maintain anything close to a consistent temp. It ran 20 to 30 degrees hot for the whole smoke. That might not be such an issue if the meat probe readings were accurate but they are anything but. Readings were wildly different from multiple known good instant read thermometer....
