Dissatisfied
The reel on the product broke within a couple of minutes of using. I read reviews and this was one reason I bought it but it broke really fast. Not worth the cost.
It makes straight lines.
I used this to layout the lines for a new tile floor. It's simple to set up and use. My only complaint is that chalk comes out as you're pulling out the line and leaves marks I didn't intend. This could have been user error though as it's the first time I have used one.
The Best
This is the best chalk box I've used in about 20 years of doing handyman work. It reels in at just the right speed and the line is really good at holding chalk and not releasing it until you snap the line, especially after the first pop. It's great that it doesn't make as much of a mess, especially when using red chalk. I usually get at least 3-4 pops before having to reel it in when doing roofing recently.
