Two major problems

1) Many times when you need an extender, it’s a small space. The collet the bit goes into is so huge, half the time, I can’t get the bit where it needs to be. 2) Plating - after less than a dozen uses, the plating on shank (the part that goes into the drill) is already flaking off. And it’s sharp enough to give you a slice that’s like a paper cut on steroids. Not going to kill you, but annoying.

Great for boarding ceilings

I picked this up on a whim as a bit was stuck in my old 6" magnetic extension. This one has a quick-change head that works far better than a magnet --- it grips regular bits (non quick-change) well and has never left a bit in a screw. The extra 6" in length means I can easily drive screws into the ceiling from the floor. It is a fair bit heavier than thinner extensions.

Cant break the thing

Ive put this thing through far more then its advertised to take, the whoke reaso. Igot it was cause i was doing a custom loft and needed to bore a 1" hole, 40" into solid beams eo i used this to get an extra 12" on my 24" paddle bit. Im pretty sure thats not manufacturer recommended , and after all the abuse, its still shiny and holding bits like it always has fornsone reason. Great tool to have in tight spaces

Light duty work only for the extension

While drilling through brick the extension started to slip. Quickly got worse. Ended up returning and swapping out for another new one to finish the job. Obviously it is for light duty work and drilling through brick with a diamond hole saw is too much work for the extension.

Get one!

Love this thing should have picked one up years ago. It allows you to drill holes or drive screws in places where your power tool won’t fit.

Great design for drilling a tunnel under your sidewalk for irrigation tubing and landscape lighting wire! Team three (3) of these 12" long 1/4" Edwin socket extenders with a Speedbore 1" dia. x 6" siral drill bit and you can drill a 36" long tunnel. Then, using a dead blow hammer, drive a 1 1/2" pvc pipe through the tunnel. The beauty of these extenders is that the LOCK together and will not come apart while drilling the long tunnel!
