I started out thinking I had bought a bad tool. I was the problem. Fyi, the stripper doesnt act as a stripper for other types of wire. It just scores the cable jacket so you can break it. Get your pairs organized correctly. Insert wiresinto rj45 fully. Use a bullnose endsnip to cut the wires evenly. Pull them back slightly and crip. I was successful at installing two RJ45 ends on some CAT 5 cable. The crimper is solid and worked as advertised. The one inconvenient aspect of this crimper is that, when cutting back the sheathing with the attached blade, one has to estimate the length as there is no mark or stop on this device when doing so. As an IT cabling guy who has been pulling and terminating lots of cable, I found this particular tool quite exceptional. Great Product

This weekend I installed a new modem/router in my home and wanted to connect a TV and two computers with CAT cable. This tool was easy to use and did a great job. Nice to have ethernet cable that's just the right length.

Awesome for beginners!

this product is pretty useful! i had to create my own ethernet cable because lowes didn't have the right length that i needed. But thankfully this product helped me with my project, i had no issues as a beginner using this tool as long as you follow the instructions! this is very worth! i definitely recommend this for beginners and even pros for cable creator

Not fully featured.

Product crimped the RJ45 ends as expected. However, it didn't have the capability to cut the access wires that extend past the RJ45 connector.

Easy to use!!

I needed to run some new cat5e cable and figured it would be way cheaper to make up my own. This crimper made the job easy just as soon as I figured out how to get those 8 skinny little wires in the right order, A learning curve, but once you get with it all will go well!

Dont get this one

Wont cut the outer part of wire also not all parts are on the same side so you have to flip it over every connection. Dont get it

It’s 2019, re-design crimpers for FT-45

It’s time to accommodate crimpers to correctly use the newer FT-45 connectors. They need to design a blade to sit on the opposite side of the RJ-45 crimp port to cut excess wire for FT-45 connectors. Also include the wire diagram for both the A and B standard for easy reference.

Make sure every wire goes in b4 crimping.

I was able to fix a 60' cable that had a bad end running through my attic. I had never done anything like this b4 and it works, worth every penny it cost.
