New Google Doorbell Camera
Works great. Easy to install. The camera has a wider view than the previous Nest Hello doorbell that we had. Also has wider range for notifications. it will notify me when someone walk down the sidewalk in front of the house.
Does not work with Nest app - only Home
My original wired Gen 1 Nest Doorbell had been having issues for about a year, and finally quit. This is a definite upgrade - larger view of front door area, AND when the doorbell is pushed, it will announce by name anyone who is in your Familiar Faces. Easy Install
Complicated and NOT user friendly!
The Google Nest battery doorbell looks great and has a clear video image. However, the maintenance issues are incredibly non-user friendly and counter-intuitive. First, if you change your wifi router, you have to disconnect the doorbell, return it to factory settings, and reinstall as-if-new (whereas the Google thermostat just has you re-enter the new wifi address). Reluctant buyer
I was a reluctant buyer on this. I had the 1st gen Nest doorbell camera, and it lost video history functionality with the switch to Google. And that video history was really important to me, so I bought this to replace the 1st gen camera under duress. Having said that, I was predisposed to NOT like it.
