I purchased my generator 2 years ago & while it was a big investment, I very happy with it. Prior to the 2024 election, I kept hearing the grid is not stable & they kept cautioning about the threats to the grid by enemies of the State. I had been contemplating & researching “standby” generators for a few years. Most that you see advertised on line will not actually power your home. I researched the numerous whole house generators & Generac kept coming up with the best ratings. The next thi...

Happy with our Generac
We purchased our Generac from Calibre Electric in Burlington, Ontario. The install was done quickly and the techs were courteous and showed me how to set up the Generac Mobile Link on my phone so I can monitor the machine. A few weeks after the install we had a half day power outage, the generator kicked in promptly and my wife had AC so all was well. It runs a little noisy but with the windows closed we didn't mind. I would recommend to gardeners that you not locate your machine close to ...

When initially installed I had control of functions from my phone. Soon after installation the Wi-Fi part failed and need to be replaced. At that time I no longer had control of functions from my phone and those that I talked to basically said tough! I had a generac in my previous home and one reason I bought again was I like the control feature on my phone. I have two more homes I’m planning to build, but unfortunately generac wont be first choice now…. Of course that could change if I had my ...

Features are okay. I just need it to run.
The unit threw a rod in January of 2025 and threw 2 more rods in 2026 with a sum total of 115.5 hours of run time. I can see a unit going down once and being repaired, but twice for the same thing, even Generac should recognize there was and is a problem. Generac finally fixed it but after months of waiting. I would not recommend a Generac to my worst enemy because of Generac's reluctance to make it right.

Reliable Backup Power When It Matters Most
A major storm knocked out our power for days, so I finally decided it was time to invest in a generator. Just having it sitting there gives me a sense of security—like no matter what the weather does, we won’t be left in the dark again. We haven’t needed to run it fully yet, but when the next storm rolls in, I’ll feel a lot better knowing it’s ready to go.

Air filter issue on brand new 22KW generator
My new whole house generator was installed a month ago. After living with frequent power outage for years, we decided to invest in a new whole house generator to be able to stop rolling out the portable generator, extension cords, flashlights and worrying about food in refrigerator and freezer. All that concern was in the past now that we invested in our new generator. The generator performed properly on the power outage test after the installation though we have now discovered that the power ou...

Almost perfect (so far)
The generator was just installed a couple months ago. So far the electric has gone out a few times and the generator performed flawlessly. We were out of town for the first month that the generator was installed. What surprised me when we got home was that heat generated from the exhaust killed the grass on that side. I personally didn’t put any thought into the direction that the exhaust was going to exit the generator. Be it out and down, strait out or out and up. It made me wonder…. If ...

An Infant and a sump pump
My power was going out on a monthly then turned into a weekly basis. I spent so much time on the phone with DTE to get daily or hourly credits for my service being down. This made life difficult with an infant and a sump pump. I invested in an 18KW whole home generator, this was the best home decision I have made. No more am I using the stove to heat in winter and window units plugged into a portable generator in the summer. With a sump pump you only have so much time to get the power to it befo...

Great performance
Generac 22kw generator was installed on June 17. Our power went out July 3rd until July 5th, 40 hours. The Generac kicked in immediately and allowed us to keep lights and AC on and stove, water pump, water heater and more running the whole time, with 9 people and four dogs in the house.

Power up
I have had this unit over 6 years and it's performed well in all my power outages. I can't say anything my negative about the unit since I've had zero issues with it. I also have a 14kw unit in my 2nd home and it's the same way reliable backup power.
