GE 30" 5 BURNER COOKTOP

STARTED DISCOLORING WITHIN 3 MONTHS, NO HELP FROM GE OR LOWES, GE SENT OUT SERVICE REP WHO SAID THE SURFACE WOULD BE REPLACED AND NEVER COMPLETED NOW GE STATES CASE CLOSED AND WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE EMAIL OR TEXT. HORRIBLE

Leaked Gas Internally Right Out of the Box

First, the base is much bigger than the previous cooktop (only a very small lip actually sits on the countertop) so I had to cut my granite to get this to fit. Then, I hooked it up and my gas meter shows it has an internally leak. Not the connecting points, but inside the burner. Lowe's will not exchange because their policy is that it must be requested within 48 hours of pickup. So now I must attempt to get it fixed through GE--not fun!

LOOKS beautiful, and no melting knobs so far but this thing kinda blows. power burner really isn't anything special despite it being way more powerful than my last one. the main issue is all 5 knobs. they go from 5% (which blows out sometimes) to 30% with no interim integrals until you hit 30-100%

Read your receipt carefully!

I have no problem with the item itself but with the salesperson who put my order into the computer. I specifically asked for a 36” stovetop but he entered 30” instead. After waiting for over 2 weeks for it to arrive I opened the package only to find that my stovetop was 6” to short for the counter top opening. He also couldn’t answer any of my questions about that and other stovetops. A good salesperson needs good product knowledge and product training before being turned loose on the customers....

Did not last but a year or so

Within a few months of using this cooktop regularly, we noticed that the black markings were gone. We reached out to GE to see if we could get replacement markings and they sent us a new top. which was great that they honored their warranty. After some more time i noticed the knobs turning really ugly and the new marking were gone again. Considering this is a cooktop that deals with fire I am surprised at its lack of quality and durability. The stovetop works but it is really ugly considering it...

Cleaning nightmare.

I bought this cooktop to match my new (necessary) oven replacement. I bought stainless, as it seems to be all the rage. But it’s been a constant nightmare to clean. I even purchased a silicon liner, which I think helps a bit, but shouldn’t be this hard- UGH!! The stainless is SO cheap, it scratches if a fingernail touches it. The grate finish looks worn off after just the initial use. DON’T even think about sliding a pan across, unless you can live with removed finish… I’m not sure WHO designed ...

ge 30” has cook top

Clear instructions. Works well, fit in the existing cut out of the old ge cook top. The grates are nice and thick.
