Issues with the controls.

The first cooktop worked very well until a pan slipped and made a small crack. Replaced it a month ago with the same exact model and one of the burners does NOT turn off. It’s a whole project to get a cooktop purchased and installed so I’m not happy it came out of the box needing a repair. Disappointed.

GE Cooktop Burner Disappointment

From the beginning, I found flaws in my GE cooktop. The surface was extremely sensitive to most spills resulting in permanent discolorations. Even with special GE cleaning kits, I could not remove stains. Now, the entire right size fails to work at all. There is a recall I missed until now. Overall, I feel like this model is defective.

Works great, looks great. Some things to know.

Purchased 12/9/2016 at Lowes when it was on a deep discount at $249. How can you go wrong at that price. Typically I would see this or similar ones on sale at $399-$499 so this was an amazing price. Some things to know about. If you are replacing an existing 30" unit prepared to have to frame your exiting opening some and to order their frame kit sold separately as this 30" is smaller then most existing 30" cooktops. Poor durabiltiy - died and took outcircuit breaker

Died after 2-3 years. Poor durability. It started making popping noises. Eventually, it died and blew out my circuit breaker too.

Lifespan just 3.5 years!

The electric stove was broken after just 3.5 years of use!!!!!!!!! The repair from GE estimate was the same price as a brand new, so I decided to buy a new electric stove.

Works well, marks easily though

Misleading size description

I just purchased a 30 inch GE electric stovetop insert to replace a 30 inch old cooktop. My other cooktop said 30 inches and it was. We purchased your cooktop because it was the same size as our other stove. Your cooktop is NOT 30 inches like it says. I went online and read other customer reviews and it showed that I now need to spend approximately $100 more for a filler trim kit on top of the purchase of a brand new cooktop. Either that or replace my counter which would cost more than a $1...

It's not a good option

Week ago the big burner when I put it in low temperature mode always remained with the high temperature but on Thursday, 12/05/2024 I was cooking when I looked that it started to throw Sparks of fire I turned it off and removed the fryer and then I turned it back on and it started throwing Sparks of fire again under the glass's since then it doesn't work it doesn't turn on That scared me a lot.

A bit disappointed

I would like to state that I had little say in choosing this cooktop, my husband looked at the cooktops and picked this one as it fit in the space we had. I can not recommend this range top.

I can not recommend this range top. It is not suitable for cooking. The burners have ten settings, from LO (1) to HI (10). The LO causes a slow boil, while settings 2 to HI cause a fast boil. There is no simmer, or warm without boiling. Even a low setting of 2 or 3 will cause liquid to boil. The only way to stop a boil is to turn off the burner.
